Finally, both Cooke Aquaculture feed vessels have railings on top of their topsides making it safer for a crew member to check the feed in the tanks. The Quoddy Runner (pictured above) has recently had it's rails put in place while undergoing refit after her sinking a few months back. The R Max had it's railings installed sometime this summer. Gone are the days of checking the feed when back ashore when it's a rough sea condition. This discovery was made during filming for the TV show Undercover Boss Canada.
On the sinking of Quoddy Runner: Divers were sent down to her right away to plug the holes so no feed escaped and I'm very happy to report everyone walked away unhurt and no environmental impact was detected from her sinking and retrieval.
