According to a March 13, 2013 article in the Digby Courier (Link to article), it seems as though there is no immediate replacement for the MV Princess of Acadia, now fully certified until 2015. The article goes on to say she's also having an extreme makeover in her interior since returning from refit. There's only one full year left of funding for this service and I still feel we would see another five year term, maintaining status quo with a ship that should be on a pension plan right now for most. I view this as a bittersweet thing as I have grown fond of this ship over the years, however, I still feel a newer vessel with new technology might reduce fares and point to a more certain future. Look for pictures of her new interior this spring.
